22 weeks and feeling great!

Sorry, no pic this week. I am staying with my sisters kids and haven't taken a pic yet.

We are so excited to be having another little boy! Hudson and his little bro are going to be so close, hopefully the best of friends! Hahaha I know it's going to take some getting used to for Hud to have a baby around but we are not too worried.

Now I would like some advice...

We have a baby bjorn but I am looking into a sling or wrap and wondering what people have to say about them. Positives? Negatives?

I'm also looking into double strollers, preferably jogging strollers. I don't want to spend a ton of money. Any suggestions?

Sleeping arrangements. We are currently in a 2 bedroom place. Of course the baby will sleep in our room for the first few months BUT will it be crazy to let them sleep in the same room? Are we looking at a disastrous situation? Ok that's it for now. Looking forward to your feedback!

Walking, and the bumps and bruises that come with it

So Hudson has started walking, YAY! It is so cute to watch him. He walks with his hands up in the air for balance and takes stiff calculated steps. It's just so stinkin cute! But with this new adventure comes a lot of tumbles, seat drops, and face-plants. This morning he took fall right next to our coffee table and cracked his eye on the corner. OUCH!! It made the loudest sound and it took him a second for the pain to set in and he started wailing! Poor kid! But like always, he cried for maybe 30 seconds and then he was off again, ready to find another toy to play with or chew on. He is such a good kid! This pic was taken right after it happened. As the day went on his eye got a little puffier and more red. Hopefully it won't stick around very long.

Baby Alme #2 is a BOY!!!

So I am going to be GREATLY out-numbered!

We had our 20 week ultrasound and we are having another BOY!!!

Here he is! You can see his head, arm and hand, and both of his legs and feet!

Adorable profile! Look at that cute little button nose! I can't wait to see what he really looks like! It is crazy to think that we are halfway there. We are so excited for Hudson to have a little brother to wrestle with! He is going to be such a great big brother! When I ask him where the baby is he gets so excited and pats my belly! Hudson the hurricane

Yes... I said hurricane. Haha our little Hudson is a ball of energy that LOVES ripping through the kitchen cabinets and his toy boxes. He is a joy a

nd a TERROR! :) Haha we have so much fun with him. It is hard to believe that he is almost 1 year old!

Here are some pics from Christmas to the present, no pun intended. :) He was not as interested in ripping open the presents as we thought he would be but when he got a look at each present he was fascinated with it... until the next one got opened.

:) He was spoiled and loves all of his presents.

We have also taken up a family tradition of bowling every Saturday morning... 1 games at the local bowling ally... can't beat that! Hudson tries to pick up the balls, it's so funny cause he grunts and grunts and then gives up.

Bed head.... he woke up in the morning sportin this hairdo. He's woken up with some pretty great looking hair... we think he styles in his sleep.

Baby Bump Update

18, almost 19 weeks and feeling great! Ha I have definitely gained more weight early on with this pregnancy, thanks to Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the yummy treats right at my fingertips! :) So in the pictures I am about to post I definitely look bigger than I should be for being only 18 weeks along BUT hey, I'm fat and happy! :) Our ultrasound date is set for Jan. 31st and we are so excited!!! Christopher has been calling the baby Steve, he doesn't have any idea what the sex is, he just thinks it's funny. I sure hope he doesn't keep that up if we find out it's a girl. With that being said, we have decided
that it would
be fun for Hudson to have a little brother to buddy around with, however we would LOVE to have a little girl too SO just a healthy baby is the wish of our hearts!

Halloween came and went, and oh how CUTE was our little Hudson the Holstein cow. Just want to share a couple of the pics we took of him... he's growing up SO fast! Enjoy!

Mother's Day

I didn't post on the actual day but I had to share how wonderful it was to have my first official Mother's Day! Chris did such a great job making the day special for me! My favorite meal, and 2 gifts!! Thanks love! I also received some beautiful flowers from my pops, and a book and card from my mother-in-law! Thank you everyone for making the day a special one. I am so grateful for our little Hudson and the blessing he is in our lives! It is such an amazing feeling being a mom! :)

Tummy Time!!

Hudson loves his tummy time... well only for about 5 minutes or so. Then I turn him over to enjoy his play mat. He LOVES the mirror! He just stares at it and jabbers away kicking his legs and hitting his hanging toys! It's so cute! I wish I could upload the video. My internet is weak. But here are some cute pics.

Alme Family Update!!

So I am ashamed to say that it has been an embarrassingly long time since my last post. I have been taking millions of pictures of Hudson and we even took our first official family picture so this post will be full of recent pics.

Some things that have happened since February...

*Hudson had his 2 month well-child appointment and he was a champ!! At the appointment he received his immunizations, 3 shots in his legs and 1 taken orally. He cried so hard when the shots were given but thankfully the nurse was so fast that it was over in 2 seconds. Then he was in my arms and totally fine! He was a true champ! Haha and I must say that I was too. It was so hard for me to see him in pain! If he hadn't been such a champ I don't think I would have handled it too well. He didn't have any adverse reactions to the shots and only needed one day of infant Tylenol. He's a tough little ninja. :)

*Another big event we had was Hudson's baby blessing! Sunday March 27th Christopher gave Hudson the most beautiful blessing I have ever heard! :) My parents, aka Oma and Opa, flew in for the blessing, it was so nice to have them here. My friend Abby Kacher was able to write down most of it too which I am SO thankful for!! Haha cause I was a blubbering mess through it so there was no way I could have written it down. Thank you Abby!! It was so special to hear Christopher up there relaying the blessing that our Heavenly Father wanted Hudson to have. It was a testimony enriching moment to say the very least. I am one blessed gal to have a husband that worthily holds the priesthood and is an incredible example for our son. :) Pure happiness. After the blessing my in-laws hosted a brunch and it was fun to be surrounded by family and friends who we love so much! And on a very mentionable side note... my dad has been working so very hard on being more healthy and has lost over 50 pounds with the help of a program called Medifast! I am so proud of him!! He looks phenomenal!! See pictures below.

*Earlier this month some friends of ours Cody and Tayna Holker invited us to go the Saturday night game of the Twins home opening weekend against the Athletics. It was Hudson's first baseball game and he did so good! They had their little boy Eli, who is almost 1, with them too and he was adorable! Over all the boys where great, and we had fun cheering on the Twins!

*And last but certainly not least we just had a wonderful Easter weekend with family celebrating our Savor's resurrection. On Saturday Christopher and I took Hudson over to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny and have his picture taken... haha SO CUTE!!! I haven't scanned it onto my computer yet but when I do I will upload it and share it with all of you.

Our son is growing so stinking fast. He is not yet 3 months old, has blown right through his 3 month clothing and is now fitting comfortably in his 6 month clothes. And he has the chubby cheeks to match his belly! :) Here are some update pictures of our little man! He is just SO STINKIN CUTE!! :) I have a video of him playing on his play mat... he grabbed his toy!! And I tried to upload it but our internet is eh stinky so it wouldn't work. Haha it is so fun to see him develop and grow!! I am amazed everyday at what he continues to discover and do! When he is awake he is so alert and attentive and smiley!! It is so fun!

He has the brightest eyes! They are a blue brown color right now... we still have no idea what they are going to be cause every day they look different. But they are big and bright and beautiful!!

He has recently discovered a love for sealing fans hahaha. It is hilarious! If we are in a room with a sealing fan he finds it. He stares at it a giggles, it is so funny! Ok, here are the pics, enjoy! :)

Birthday dinners and haircuts!

Since my birthday and the days following were occupied by our little love-bug Hudson, and a case of the flu, my in-laws decided to postpone my birthday dinner until we were ready to get out of the house! Well, come Feb. 19th we were ready for a night out!! We went to dinner at the fantastic restaurant of Wildfire here in Eden Prairie and it was delicious!! It was a night full of great company, scintillating conversation with loved ones, and oh so delicious food!! Hudson and I received some fantastic gifts from everyone including a MUCH needed full body massage at Sanctuary Salon and Spa from my wonderful husband! Thanks babe! I stinkin love you!

AND...

As the title states... I got a haircut today!! It was time for a change and I am LOVING my new look! I decided to stick with the blonde but chopped it SHORT again! What do you all think?!

Hudson Christopher decided to give me the best birthday present I could have ever asked for... joining our family after just 11 hours of labor! Haha I know many of you heard me say on more than one occasion that I DIDN'T want him to come on my birthday. But when when it came time... I was nothing but ecstatic for him to be here, shared birthday and all!

I am pretty sure I have the Doc to thank for this too. On Feb 3rd, the day before my birthday and 1 week before my due date, I had a doctors appointment. I had not made any progress from the last visit, still only dilated to a 2 and about 70-80% effaced, SO he decided to strip my membranes... sorry if that is a little tmi. :) I was happy he did it though cause I thought that it would at least get the baby-ball rolling! Ha, IT DID!! At 3:15am the next morning, Feb 4th, I woke up to go to the bathroom, yet again! And started feeling some contractions. I wasn't really concerned until I felt like they were coming pretty regularly. SO... I got out my phone, turned on the flashlight app, got out my pregnancy book to make sure I knew how to time the contractions right and started timing! After about 30min of somewhat regular contractions a minute to a minute 40 in length and about 4-5 minutes apart, Chris woke up to find me on the floor, phone flashlight in hand, staring at my pregnancy book and asked "Maegs, what are you doing?" :) I simply said... "I think I'm in labor". He perked up at that statement and said "REALLY". I told him about my contractions and how long I have been timing them and he suggested that we call the hospital. I said that they say I should time them for a full hour before we do that. Haha he got a little excited/nervous though and so we called about 45min into timing them. The nurse that I spoke to said that I was definitely in labor but since my water hadn't broken yet I should just try to stay comfortable and stay home as long as I can. I said ok, hung up the phone, and started making sure everything was ready to go for the hospital.

My contractions started getting stronger and at about 4:45 I told Chris that we should probably start heading to the hospital.

5am my water broke and we were out the door!

By 5:30 we were in the Triage unit hooked up to a monitor waiting for a labor and delivery room to open up.

7am rolls around and we are still waiting, busy night for babies being born!

My contractions were pretty hard at this point thought and so I asked for a little relief... a little bit of Fentinol and I was flying high. :) Not the funnest feeling in the world but it definitely took the pain away for a bit.

9am we finally got a nurse and a delivery room. The meds had warn off at around 8 and I was feeling them pretty good now. I tried taking a bath, sitting on a birthing ball, and walking around for a bit but by 1oam... I kindly requested my epidural.

I think this is a good time to mention how AMAZING my husband was/is! Every moment, every step of the way he was right by my side, holding my hand, being my number one cheerleader and giving me the greatest support and strength! Now, I am not surprised ONE BIT at how great he was. However, he has a slight fear of needles. Ok, slight is a HUGE understatement. I got stuck with needles all morning... he never left my side. He was a champ! Haha he still says how amazing I did with the delivery but he is the reason I was able to do so well. He of course doesn't believe that but all you ladies who have given birth know just how important the solid support of a great partner is! So thank you Christopher.

When I received my epidural at 10am the nurse checked me and I was only at a 3. SLOW progress. I was so disappointed. BUT having the relief of the epidural allowed me to relax and simply accept it. And Chris and I were even able to get a little sleep.

12 noon, the nurse came in to check on my progress and I was at a 4. YAY! Progress is progress right?! She said that things might start moving faster now and I said ok, knowing that they probably wouldn't.

At 1pm she came back in, checked me out, and BAM... I was at a 9! I couldn't believe it! She started getting the room ready for delivery and said that we will probably be able to start pushing at around 2:30 and hopefully he would be born at around 4.

Well, at around 2 I called her back in because I was feeling really heavy back labor with no breaks between contractions. IT HURT! She said ok, lets get ready to push then.

2:15pm Pushing began. It took 45 min for him to crown and STAY crowned, stubborn kid! :)

3:00pm The Doctor came in and I started pushing for real.

3:11am Hudson was out and on my belly!! Tears could not be contained! Christopher and I had a son! A beautifully perfect baby boy! Chris cut the umbilical chord and did not leave his side as he got weighed and measured, tested for various things, and cleaned up a bit.

It is so amazing the love that we feel for this little ninja! I can't stop staring at him and kissing him. All day every day... he has me hypnotized!

And Chris... I honestly didn't think it was possible for me to love that man any more than I already did but when I see him with Hudson... the love I feel is over-whelming. It doesn't stop growing! He is so amazing with him... already having their nightly story time together. And diaper changes!!! Haha Chris JUMPS at the chance to change his diapers and give him sponge baths and do everything but feed him, which he would do if he could! :) What a fantastic father!

So that's the story! Sorry for the short novel. This is mostly for my journal so I had to be somewhat thorough.

Haha so every once in a while I get picture messages from my sister Danika. She captures her crazy kids doing what they do best... being silly and/or CUTE! 38 WEEKS!! YIKES!

Today is our 38 week mark, only 14 days left! It is so crazy to think he could come any day now. I am just about to head to my doctors appointment and thought I would post a quick update. Haha thank you to all who commented on my 37 weeks post with advice on how to induce labor. Really the only time I am uncomfortable is at night, not sleeping very well which many have told me it's good preparation for when he is here cause my sleeping will not get any better. :) SO... I've decided to be more patient. Because he will come when he is good and ready and we will have all the time in the world to get to know one another then. It's amazing how much love I already feel for this little ninja. I can't imagine how much that love will grow when I actually see his face and hold him in my arms!

And to all my friends who are prego as well I hope you are enjoying it! I know some of you are not, and that is a bummer. It can be rough and I hope it gets better for you. For those who are like me and at the end, GOOD LUCK!! I love you all! YAY BABIES!!

Baby Bash!!

My sweet mother-in-law Sheri, and 2 awesome sisters-in-law Sarah and Stacy, threw me a baby bash this last weekend and they did such a cute job! The theme was "Baby Jungle" and everything was perfect! BIG THANKS to them for the amazing job they did! And BIG THANKS to all who came and were so generous with the gift giving! Our little ninja is one spoiled little boy already! Here are some fun pics of the event!

Sarah and Laura were the record keepers for who gave us what and also read aloud the Baby Birth Prediction cards that every guest filled out. There were some predictions that if anyone of them came true I'd be one happy mama. AND there were some that will make me miserable!

37 WEEKS & 2 DAYS!!

Here are finally some more belly pics! I can't believe that we only have 3 weeks (hopefully less, probably more) left! Crazy!! At my last Dr. appointment the doc checked me and I was not

dilated or effaced one bit! :( Bummer! I was hoping to hear that my body had started to prepare for labor... nope! :) So... I am going to rely on some "help". Warning, going to get a little personal...

My sister told me about this natural supplement called Red Raspberry that is supposed to assist in thinning and softening the cervix. Any thoughts from anyone who has heard of this

product and/or has tried it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions to help drive along the process? Advice is always welcome! Ok, here are the pics! Enjoy the belly! :)

My Snuggle-Bug Dallas

Haha so tonight we were watching a movie and invited Dallas, my boxer, to come up on the bed to snuggle with us. She did not disappoint. Any time I am laying down and tell her to lay down next to me she does this...

Lays on or leans against my belly.

We had to capture it because it makes us laugh every time. She didn't really ever do this before I got pregnant. She would lay down next to me but not really on me. It makes me wonder if she knows that I am pregnant, or at least that my body is not in it's usual state.

Maybe she smells him. I don't know.

Either way, I just love it. Haha it can be a bit uncomfortable at times.

But it still puts a smile on my face.

I hope she will be good with our little ninja.

And I realized that it is not so smart to just be posting it for all to see like I did last time. Baby Shower!!!

My friend of the best, Lacee Koelliker threw me a wonderful baby shower this last weekend! She and my sister in law Malia did a fabulous job with the food, fun, and games! The only thing I am upset about is that I didn't take for pictures! I only have these two. I am hoping that others took more and I can get copies!

Lacee made a fantastic spread of soup, salad, appetizers, and yummy desserts for the event! And Malia brought the games! We played a game where every guest got 3 clothes pins and had to try to stick them on my without me noticing. Look at my outfit... I wore the WRONG thing for this game! Haha everyone just simply attached them to the bottom of my dress with ease! Lets just say there were A LOT of winners at that game! We also played a fun game of matching words that had to do with having a baby to various candy bars... not as easy as I thought! The last game was hilarious! We each started with 10 sheets of paper and had to write a statement on the first sheet about me, my baby, or both. Then we passed our stack of papers to the left and that person had to draw a picture that depicted that statement, the next person wrote a statement that represented the picture, and so on until we ended up with our original stack of papers. We then shared the story and how our statement evolved as we interpreted each others drawings and statements! It was quite hilarious, I ALMOST peed my pants! :) Thank you to the Robisons for letting us use your house and thank you again to Lacee for putting it all together! You are the best friend anyone could ask for! :) And thank you to everyone who came and the gifts you brought for our little ninja! He is going to be so spoiled!! :)

Hoyt Cousins Christmas!!!

First off, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to my incredible Nonnie for all that she does for our family! She is so kind and generous and is the matron of our wonderful family! Secondly, another big THANK YOU to fantastic aunts Janice and Margo, AND to my wonderful cousin Amy for reserving the Mutual Dell Cabin for FREE!!! They worked hard in getting everything put together for the evening from the fun Christmas decor, and delicious food, to the awesome games and gifts we all received!

It is a long standing Hoyt Family Christmas tradition to have Mexican food at our Christmas parties! Thanks to Margo's brilliant idea of doing Cafe Rio catering... it was as delicious as ever and not a lot of work! After indulging in one too many shredded pork tacos (YUM!) the games and talents began! Nonnie, in her never ending generosity, supplied Christmas gifts for everyone! The great grandchildren went fishing for their gifts! And the adults had a fun game of gift card gift exchange! Some stealing and trading took place but I think over-all everyone ended up with a gift card they were happy with... well, for the most part (Sorry Sara!) :)

After the games we enjoyed some yummy Christmas treats and a fabulous display of talent from the family! Overall the evening was a huge success! Crafts and games, yummy food and fun conversation made the evening oh so fun! Here are some pictures I snapped of the fun! Thanks again everyone! I love you all and couldn't ask for a better group to call my family!

30 Weeks!!!

Today I hit 30 weeks in my pregnancy! It's so weird to think that I only have 10 weeks or less (hopefully) left! Our little ninja is moving and kicking like crazy! One of my favorite things is to just sit and watch my stomach move and take funny shapes as he moves around in there. With the exception of the morning sickness I had the first trimester this pregnancy has been so easy! I mean I am definitely having my fair share of indigestion and gas (sorry if that's too much for some of you to know) but for the most part it's been wonderful! I LOVE being pregnant! Haha there are a couple things I will take time to complain about though...

1. My hips are growing right along with my ever expanding belly! I had a good set of hips before I got pregnant but now.... WOW!!! Haha I'm not too excited about that.

2. He has decided that the most comfortable position for him to be in is with one foot permanently lodged in my ribcage! NOT so comfortable for me unfortunately.

3. Occasionally I get REALLY HOT and my body feels like it can't breath. My hands start to puff up and so I have to take my rings off but that only happens every once in a while. I hope it doesn't become a full time thing.

And that's it!

No more complaints from me for now. I simply can't wait for this little guy to get here! It's crazy how much I love him already!

OH, and on the name topic... nothing yet. Haha we are starting to worry that he will be nameless for the first few weeks of his life. Still open to suggestions.

Last night we celebrated our friend Garrett Barfoot's birthday by joining him, his wife Alexa and a few other couples for dinner at Goodwood Barbecue Company! Delicious food and great company made for a fantastic evening! I knew just what I wanted to eat too... a 2/3 rack of Baby Back Ribs!!! YUM!! Chris got the brisket and I ate pretty much my entire meal and half of his! Haha red meat just hit the spot last night! I haven't really felt like eating much meat throughout my pregnancy so last night was a party! It was so good!!! Thank you Goodwood!! Here are some photos of the evening!

27 WEEKS!!!!

I am 27 weeks prego today and feel great!!! I don't have any pics at this time but I will get on that asap! I was just sitting here feeling our little ninja move and stretch and kick and needed to share my love and excitement! I know that I have said it before but I just can't get over how much of a miracle child birth is. And I can not wait to be a mother! And I am so excited to see Chris as a father! He is going to be so amazing! Haha everyday when I get home from work his hands go straight to my belly with a smile on his face! I love it! I love him! I am truly blessed! :)

Chris and I decided to spend Halloween up in Idaho with the Hone's this year! It was a very fun weekend full of tricks and yummy treats!! Kendel, Allie, and Reese got all dressed up in their cute little costumes and they looked SO CUTE!!!!! First we stopped by their ward Trunk or Treat/Halloween Carnival where the girls showed off their cuteness and got an excellent start on their candy stash! Then it was time to hit the streets of IF with Brad's cousins kids. Brad had the brilliant idea of borrowing a wagon from his boss and pulling the girls around on it from street to street. The girls loved it! And it made things go A LOT faster! Haha! We would pull them to the beginning of a street or culdesac and they would jump out and run from house to house yelling "trick or treat" followed by and big "thank you". Then they'd get back in, and we'd head to the next street! Brilliant Brad, just brilliant! It was a chillie evening so it was nice to not have to be out there forever! The girls were so excited the entire night though and even though they ate as they went and were hopped up on sugar for the most part, they pooped out after we got home. Ha, so did we! On their way back up to Idaho from visiting my parents in Arizona, Danika, Brad and their cute little girls stopped to get gas in Draper so we met them at the gas station to say hello! All I really wanted was to get this pic with Dani though...

She is 33 weeks and I am 24 but we still look the same size. Haha I blame it on my sweater! :) It was definitely much needed to see them! It had been longer than sisters should have to go without seeing one another!

I checked in with Danika today to make sure they made it home safely and thankfully they did. She shared a cute story with me too. As she was taking her oldest, Kendel, to school this morning Kendel said "Mom, last night was fun"! Danika, confused, said "what was fun, the drive". And Kendel's reply... "No, seeing Chris and Maegan"! :) I just love those cut little girls! They warm my heart! Danika and Brad have decided that they are not finding out what this child is but I hope so badly that it is a boy! I would love for our little ninja to have a little buddy his same age to play with at family reunions and such.

My husband is official!!

I am one proud wife!!! :)

On Wed. October 13th at 12pm my husband stood amongst a group of fellow recent graduates of law school and took the Attorney's Oath for the state of Utah! If was so awesome to see Christopher stand as his name was called and raise his right hand in front of the Supreme Court of the District of Utah and be sworn in as an attorney! He has worked SO HARD for this day and I am so proud of him! I am also very thankful that our last name starts with the letter A too! Haha there were so many lawyers there taking the oath and they called them alphabetically to stand before taking the oath! His was the 4th name to be called so I was able to get a clear shot of him amidst the crowd!

All of his hard work and late nights have paid off and I couldn't be more grateful for a husband that is as dedicated and hardworking as he is! Well done babe!!

After the ceremony we decided to celebrate with some nice, big, juicy burgers, onion rings, and a chocolate shake to share from Carl's Jr. It was delicious!! :)

So last night after Christopher and I had gotten ready for and were lying in bed something intoxicating happened. I felt our little ninja kick me for the first time! It was one of those life changing moments that we will NEVER forget! Chris was on his laptop and I was reading next to him when I felt it. The little monkey nudged my hand with his foot or hand and it was ever so tiny but I felt it! I told Chris that i thought the baby had just kicked me but that I wasn't sure and we both just kept on doing what we were doing. Then it happened again and I got more excited!!! I told Chris and he stopped what he was doing to try and feel it. He put his hand in the spot I told him I had felt it. I started poking around to see if I could get him to do it again and HE DID!! Hahaha Chris and I both started laughing and it was so amazing!!! Literally for an hour more we just sat there feeling him kick and nudge me like crazy! Haha I guess he didn't realize that it was sleepy time but I'm SO glad he thought it was play time because it was the biggest blessing to feel him dancin around in there! I have been getting so paranoid that I wasn't feeling him move enough and that something might be wrong... then the Lord blessed us with this wonderful hour of joy that left me with the most comforting feeling that he was growing and healthy like the doctor always tells me. I just need to trust in that.

I'm so thankful for these incredible moments of pure joy! I love my husband and am so excited to be expanding our family with the little boy. I can not wait to meet him... see his cute little face... and find out who he is and the personality he has. Haha Christopher and I do agree on one thing though... with a pair of crazies like us for parents, he is going to be a handful but incredibly fun! :)

Conference Weekend

Last weekend was General Conference for us Mormons! And it was a fantastic weekend! Thanks to the wonderful Bro. and Sis. Jensen, Christopher and I got to go to the Sat. afternoon session of conference! It was Chris's first time in the conference center and even though we got there late and had to sit WAY at the top, it was still an incredible experience! After the session we met up with the missionaries that taught and baptized Christopher and it was fun to see them!

Overall a very nice weekend off to spend with my honey!

What does a good nights sleep even feel like?

I have forgotten!! What does a good, solid night sleep feel like?

This is really the only bad/hard thing that my pregnancy is giving me right now. Yes, I did have morning sickness for the first 4 months but that's over and done with and I feel fantastic with the exception that I CAN NOT GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP!! And unfortunately, neither can my husband because he gets woken up by my tossing and turning.

I have always been a back sleeper. So it's been a bit of an adjustment switching to sleeping on my side. I have tried a couple different things like putting a pillow between my legs to help with the comfort. And putting a pillow under one hip so that I'm not flat on my back and not completely on my side, just tilted enough to let the blood flow freely. Both work for an hour or 2 but then I get uncomfortable and need to change positions (this is when I wake up Christopher) which means that neither of us are getting a solid 6-8 hours in a row of sleep. I would LOVE to get one of these...

A full body maternity pillow, like the one featured in the movie The Backup Plan. But simply don't want to spend the money on one. Maybe it's worth it... I don't know. If you have used one during pregnancy and you think it IS worth it... PLEASE let me know!! Or if you have any advice on what more I can try to get a good nights sleep... I am all ears! Haha and Christopher would definitely appreciate it too!

Other than this little annoyance, this pregnancy has been so fun and exciting! Every little movement is so exciting! I haven't felt any big kicks or punches yet but I'm sure those will come shortly! My husband and I were talking the other day and just agreeing on what an incredible blessing this little guy is in our lives! We can not wait to meet him and discover his personality, who he's going to look more like, and who he's going to be! Just one more thing to be thankful to our Heavenly Father for in this life.

This morning was our anatomy ultrasound appointment! We are very excited to announce that we are having a strong and healthy little BOY!!!!!! He was a little bit cramped in there, the doctor says he is measuring about 2 weeks bigger than he should be, no doubt thanks to my tall husband! :) He had his hands covering his face but we were finally able to get a shot of it! Everything was as it should be and he looks great! When it came time to find out what it was he wouldn't move his legs and let us see but the doctor finally got him to "open up" haha and it was a clear shot!! Haha we think that's why he was covering his face with his hands, little guy was embarrassed to be on display!!
Now all we have to do is decide on a name for our little ninja! We unfortunately have more girl names that we like so it's time to switch gears and come up with his name! We have a couple that we kinda like but are not set with one yet. Anyway, just thought I would share our happy news with all of you! Pictures will come as soon as I can figure out how to get them onto my computer!

The other night my husband and I were laying in bed catching up on the last season of lost when he did the cutest thing! He slowly leaned over and gently rested his head on my stomach. I smiled and asked "what ya doin?". He replied "I'm listening for the baby's heartbeat". Then he told me to stop breathing so he could listen. Haha it was one of those moments that made me realize just how much I love this man that is my husband. He's done many little heartwarming things like that recently so I've decided to start carrying around my camera EVERYWHERE we go. Even when we're just chillin watching tv. Hopefully there will be pictures to go along with the rest of my posts. :)

When we first got married my husband used to make fun of how often I needed to use the restroom. I wasn't that bad, I just drink a lot of water so I have to pee a little more often than he does. Haha, now that I am 16 weeks pregnant he just laughs at me. This morning is a perfect example of the blissfulness that is being pregnant and frequenting the porcelain throne! My car was having issues so we took it into the shop a couple days ago. It was ready for pick up so my husband drove me down to get it this morning. We got to the shop a few minutes before it opened and of course... I need to use the restroom. So he drives me down the street to the 7-11. We get back to the shop and not 2 minutes later I NEED to go again! Luckily the shop is open by now so we run in and as Christopher is paying I use the ladies room. When I get out he says "seriously? How is that possible?" Haha I just laughed and told him to get used to it! I've got 5 1/5 more months of this! As annoying as it is, it puts a smile on my face! I can't help but just enjoy all the little changes my body is going through with pregnancy! Now that I'm past the "morning" sickness that is! :)

Cravings

So I decided that I need to do a better job of posting on this thing. Not really for whoever reads this but mostly because it is an easy way for me to keep a journal of life's happenings. New goal? Check!!
Today is all about cravings! Haha a lot of people have asked me what, if any, crazy cravings I have had with my pregnancy. I have had a few cravings but i can't really say that any of them are crazy. There is the usual pickles craving but... I've been obsessed with dill pickles my whole life so that's nothing new. Ice cream... yes PLEASE!! But again, nothing new for me. :) Chocolate, sweets in general... was born with a sweet tooth! I would have to say that my biggest craving has been french fries! Wendy's, McDonald's, In'n'out, Sonic... OH SONIC!!! Haha their chili cheese fries are pure bliss for me! I have been taking extra care to get plenty of vegetables and fruit in my diet as well so that this baby isn't just getting crap from me but I definitely can't live without those fries! :)
now for the foods that I haven't really been able to eat. Meat in general hasn't sounded good to me. And it's not that the smell or anything makes me sick. It just hasn't sounded good. Chinese food is another thing. Threw that one up too many times for it to be appealing anymore. I'm hoping that won't last forever cause I really like chinese food! And meat!! Haha Chris is a little frustrated with this because that makes it difficult to plan dinners for ourselves but really we still make meat for him to eat, I just don't eat it. Fish on the other hand, I can still do fish! So that's good I guess.

Miraculous Moments

On August 4th at my last doctors appointment I experienced something that I find hard to describe with mere words. Using a small machine called a Doppler (I think) I was blessed to hear our baby's little, rapid, and healthy heartbeat! Tears instantly came to my eyes and I was overcome with joy! Truly miraculous! Christopher unfortunately was not able to be there and so wished he could have been. I passed on the experience as best I could with words but I don't think I did it justice. Each one of these little amazing moments I experience tugs so hard on my heartstrings and leaves me breathless and speechless. I feel so blessed to be experiencing this miracle of life inside me. Haha every time I throw up or don't feel great or have a pain in my lower abdomen Chris says "I'm sorry"! And I say "It's not your fault". He just flashes his brilliant smiles and says "well yeah! It really is"! Haha he has been so amazing through this process and he is so excited to meet our little ? when he/she comes. We are still having the debate on whether or not we will find out the sex of the baby but I think I am slowly pulling him over to the side of finding out the sex so we can be prepared and just plain excited for the little lady/gentleman. Our next appointment is Sept. 2nd. More updates and miraculous moments to come I'm sure! :)

13 Week Baby Bump!

So I got this idea from one of my friends blogs and thought it would be fun. My pictures just look like I'm fat! There is hardly a bump from the baby. I'm sure it's just all those french fries that I've been craving and consuming that is making me get bigger! Haha hopefully that will change soon though and people will be able to tell that I'm expecting instead of just plain gaining weight. I have also included our baby's first pic. At our very first doctors appointment the doctor did a vaginal ultrasound and it was amazing! We could see the little peanut so clearly! WOW!! One of my top 5 life moments! Top 3... hearing it's little fluttering heart beat at our last appointment! Priceless! How can I already love someone so much?! This little person is going to be SO loved! :)

BIG NEWS!!!

Well, I am sorry that I haven't posted anything for a while but I don't think there are a lot of people reading this so really, it's jut for my benefit. BUT Christopher and I have some big BIG news! We are expecting our first baby!! That's right we are going to be parents. SCARY thought! We couldn't be more excited and nervous, but mostly excited! I am 12 weeks along, so just reaching the end of my first trimester. And am still feeling/throwing up the consequences. :) For those of you wondering, we are hoping for a boy but will be extremely happy with either flavor. WOW, I can't believe we're going to be parents! Any advice for first timers is VERY MUCH welcome! AND any secrets on places that have deals/discounts on baby essentials would be much appreciated as well.

Take me out to the ball game!

One of our goals before we headed out west was to hit up a Twins baseball game in the new stadium. Mom and dad Alme made that goal a reality getting us tickets for Christopher's 27th birthday! Even though it was cloudy and a bit on the cold side, the Twins played great, pulled out the W, and we had a BLAST!! The new Target Field is incredible!

If someone would have told me that I would someday call myself a Cougar, I would have laughed and said "yeah right"! But, it is true, I am now wearing BLUE! As of March 31st, I am now an assistant coach for the women's volleyball team! I am super excited to have this opportunity and am so INCREDIBLY grateful for it! They wanted me to get started right away so that I could be around for the end of the spring season so I flew out leaving my loving and incredibly supportive husband in Minnesota to finish up his law schooling without me. I will be heading back out the end of April to get things cleaned and packed and officially move us out to Utah afer he graduates in mid-May. It has been difficult to be apart from him but like I said he has been the sweetest husband and couldn't be more excited for me and this job! I owe him BIG TIME!! I will definitely be happy to see him again in a couple of weeks. I will post more about our big move when the time comes but for now... I'm just happy to be here! :)

Footloose

Last night Chris and I got the chance to go see Footloose the musical at Chanhassen Dinner Theaters. We HIGHLY recommend it! It was such a fun night and the actors played their roles so well! Seriously so much fun! I was hoping for a remake of Ren McCormick's(played by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 major motion picture) slam-dance warehouse scene. BUT sadly there was none. However in was full of some stellar dancing and they remade the movie into a great on stage musical! It was definitely a night to remember! Thanks mom and pop Alme for giving me such a fun and memorable birthday present! We love you! Here are some pictures of the original movie that I simply love! I mean, who doesn't love this movie?!

27 YEARS YOUNG

I am now 27, or... as my husband puts it... only 3 years away from 30! Haha, I had such an awesome birthday! It was full of heartfelt birthday wishes from all my friends and family, incredible expressions of love from my man, SNOW, and it lasted for about 4 days!!!
On Thursday, my actual birthday, I received some wonderful cards and presents in the mail. My best friend, who is WAY too good to me :), sent me a really cute shirt and some fun jewelry, and bet of all... a giant birthday cookie!!! Thanks Lace, you are the best!!! Later that evening my husband took me out to Olive Garden for dinner, which is one of my many favorite restaurants, and to see the movie The Princess and the Frog... SO GOOD!!! When we got home he used the giant birthday cookie to put candles in. He accidently bought a 2 and a 6 though (I think he wants me to stay 26 forever) so he fixed it by adding a matchstick as the 7th candle. It was perfect! :) He then surprised me by giving me a present that I so much wanted... music! Piano and guitar music by Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat! I stinkin love it!
On Friday I received more birthday cards and birthday $, YAY!!! Which I plan on pampering myself with.
And on Sunday we went over to my in-laws to watch the super bowl, and there was an angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream waiting for me! It is my absolute favorite and was so delicious! Let's just say it was one fantastic birthday week had by me!! Thank you to everyone who made it so amazing! :) Here are some pictures of the fun-ness!

Time and All Eternity

January 9th, 2010 will be a day that I will never forget. My husband took me to the Salt Lake temple and fulfilled a promise and a blessing that I have been striving and hoping for all of my life! At 10:20am we were sealed for time and all eternity and it was perfect. We were filled with unmeasurable joy! Our family, friends, and loved ones were all there with us and we couldn't have asked for a better day! Even though it was pretty cold outside, I couldn't feel it! I was full of joy and warmth and LOVE!! I LOVE THIS MAN! We have had this inseparable bond between us for SO long. A connection that was like non other, but now it feels like we are on a whole other level of together. I was trying to explain or describe it to my best friend but words are hard to find. Haha it is just incredible how we are even closer and more in love than ever now that we have taken this eternal step! It is truly awe inspiring to be in the temple, in the celestial room, with my better half! :) I love you babe! Thank you!!

So it is now January of 2010... CRAZY!! I am so excited for this new year! Many exciting things are happening! First, my husband got me a gym membership which was what I absolutely wanted most! And I am so excited to get back into my workout routine! Next, my husband finished up his first semester of his last year of law school, not without a little bit of stress though! Here he is trying to finish up a 50 page paper... SINGLE SPACED... before Christmas. Needless to say he is happy to be done and on to his last semester!
We had a blast with Christopher's side of the family for Christmas. We spent it up in northern Minnesota at their cabin and it was a party! We rode snowmobiles, ate lots of yummy food, played games, laughed, ate, laughed and ate some more! AND Christopher surprised me with an adorable present int he snow one night! I was doing my work for my brother and Christopher went out to play in the snow with the dogs. When he came back in he told me to look outside ... then he got a huge hug, kiss, and and I love you right back!! :)

Christopher and I getting ready to head out on the sleds for one last ride before we went home. Such a fun time! Christopher and I spent New Years with our friends and had a pretty chill yet FUN night! We watched the U of Minnesota bowl game, ate pizza, played Battle of the Sexes, GIRLS WON! And watched the ball drop in New York. Over-all it was a very fun evening and we even stayed awake for the clock to strike 12! And finally... the most important thing that this new year is bringing with it is the day that Christopher and I will be sealed for time and all eternity to one another in the Salt Lake Temple! January 9, 2010 is going to be a day neither of us will ever forget! I can't wait to look and my husband through eternal eyes across the alter! I love you babe!

Oh Christmas Tree, OH CHRISTMAS TREE!

Our first Christmas as a little family! YAY! Christopher and I wanted to decorate but we are on a budget so we had to be smart about it. Luckily we found some great deals at Walmart and Target for decorations! AND my mother-in-law gave us this beautiful wreath that she made last year which I am SO grateful for!
We also decided to invest in a fake tree for now, hopefully it will last us until we decide to start buying real trees! You never know with my dog, she might just get a hankering for fake Christmas tree one day and then it will be toast! We decorated it with lights, and bulbs, and some of Christopher's old ornaments that he had made as a kid! Haha and that is really all the decorating we did! We decided that our Christmas decorating was a bit ghetto and it's perfect!

Ok now for the honest truth! This is my first Christmas away from my family and I got a bit depressed about it! Haha in fact I had a bit of a melt down and just started crying incessantly one night! Poor poor Christopher! He was so cute and even offered that we find a cheap ticket for me to fly to visit my parents for a couple of days! After a big hug and some blowing of the nose, I told him that I would be fine and that I was just missing them. THEN an idea hit me that would bring my parents and family Christmas to me! My dad's famous caramel popcorn!! My family has a Christmas tradition that consists of my dad making his yummy caramel-corn, my mom bagging and tagging it, and then us getting dressed up in our Santa hats and caroling to our friends and neighbors with the treat! We even invite Santa to join us (the guys rotate every year and I think next year Christopher is going to have to take his turn)! It is one of my favorite traditions my family has! SO I decided to make my dad's caramel popcorn! It definitely did the trick in cheering me up! AND it only took me one not so good batch to make a few great batches! Once I tasted this yummy treat I was instatly cured of my sadness! I am so thankful for traditions and families! I have an incredible family and even though I will be missing them this Christmas I also have wonderful in-laws to spend the holidays with and to experience/create new traditions with and I am so excited for that!

Tonight was a FUN night! We put on our snow gear and took to the Starting Lake sledding hill! It was closed of course but that certainly didn't stop us! AND since we don't have any "human" children yet to share this fun tradition with we decided to bring our dog Dallas along and introduce her to the exciting activity of sledding! She was lovin it! She would run down the hill crossing in front of our sleds and racing next to us and was just burning SO much energy! Which is great considering how much energy she has! Then Christopher decided he wanted to let her try riding on the sled with him! She was CRAZY nervous at first but when they got back up to the top of the hill and he got back on his sled she slowly crept over to him and sniffed at the sled like she wanted to go again but wasn't completely sure! haha it was so cute! And I do apologize, these pictures are from my phone and they didn't turn out very good.

I truly apologize Forrest and Shanell! In my recap of what we have been up to I didn't mention their wonderful wedding! It was on October 15, 2009 and it was beautiful! They were sealed in the Mesa temple and then we partied like CRAZY in my parents beautifully decorated backyard! We are so happy for you two!
The sealing was especially beautiful! Pres. Peterson, who performed the sealing, gave the most beautiful advice and had such an incredible insight on temples and the wonderful spirit found in them and in the work performed there. WOW!
I can't wait till Christopher get's to go through and we get sealed for time and all eternity January 9th, 2010!!
I love the temple! It truly is a heavenly place here on earth!

Ok, so I finally decided to join the world of blogging! I've always viewed it as a world full of married people and now I'M MARRIED! :)
So my first post is going to be a little info on my life as it is right now. Like I said previously I got married on May 14, 2009. My husband is Christopher Alme, the love of my forever! He is a 3rd year law student at the U of Minnesota, is 6'6" (yeyaa!), and an INCREDIBLE man!
We are living in Minnesota while he finishes his last year of school then... who knows!! We'll go where the job takes us!

We have 2 dogs:

Dallas, the Boxer-mixSienna, the Newfoundland

We spent our first summer as a married couple in Arizona where Chris had an internship and we definitely had A LOT of good times! We took a few trips and even hit up SeaWorld in San Diego! We also had an adventure at the Phoenix Zoo, the Grand Canyon, South Rim, and Wet Beaver Creek with our good friends Ryan, Abby, and Riley Kacher! Over-all it was a fun filled summer in the blistering heat!
When the summer ended and it was almost time for school to begin we made the move to good ol' Minnesota! And here we'll stay for who knows how long!
Halloween!! Haha Christopher and I had the hardest time coming up with costumes on such a little budget but we finally decided on something...Haha he was an Almond Joy and I was a Mounds Bar. Haha, next year we'll do better and be better prepared!
Thanksgiving was spent up north at the Alme Cabin and also with my mother-in-laws side of the family! It sits right on Paul Lake, which is right next to Perham, which is about 3 hours NW of the twin cities. Here is a picture I took up there one morning... absolutely breathtaking!There was a fog covering the lake and the sun was rising and breaking through the fog. Amazing! Now we are getting ready for Christmas and it is going to be so fun! This year we are with Christopher's side of the family and staying here in Minnesota. I am kinda torn to tell you the truth because this is going to be my first Christmas with my husband!! :) But also my first Christmas away from my family. :( My in-laws ARE truly amazing though and we will have a blast! AND I am super excited about having a white Christmas again though! I LOVE THE SNOW!!! It has been snowing here for the past couple days non stop and it's AWESOME!!! Waking up to a world blanketed in white is such a beautiful thing! It's right up there with an incredible sunrise, sunset, and wild sunflowers along the road in the summertime.
Well, that's all for now. I hope that kinda catches people up on me and Christopher and our adventures up till now.
Let's see if I can make this blogging thing a habit!
